Woke up on Sat, 12 April 2008, praying that the weather would be kind and not rain all day as had been predicted, as their reception was at Fanhams Hall, near Ware, Hertfordshire, which has one of the most beautiful gardens I have had the pleasure to work in.

Looked out the window, things looked good and remained that way for the rest of the day, my prayers were definitely answered.

On Saturday, 15 March 2008, I met up with Sonya and Andy for the first time, to discuss their upcoming wedding on 12 April 2008 at All Saints Pastoral Centre, London Colney with the reception to be held at Fanhams Hall, near Ware.

I was a bit nervous as we hadn’t met before they booked and was worried that we would “click”. I needn’t have worried, as they are a wonderful, warm and genuine couple and I deem it a privilege to have been commissioned to cover their wedding.

We had arranged to meet at Ye Olde Fighting Cocks Pub and then we went on to the Cathedral and Abbey Church of St Alban for a beautiful backdrop and then onto the Verulamium Park.

Luckily for us the weather held and it did not pour down, but there was a slight drizzle, which didn’t bother us.

There was a lot of laughter whilst I posed Sonya and Andy against trees and in doorways as the general public were walking by and soon they were comfortable with the camera in their faces and didn’t even notice people looking.

What an enjoyable day and I was working!

It was such a pleasure to have the job of documenting Kelly and Oliver’s wedding at The Thistle Hotel in Little Wymondley on Saturday, 9 June 2007.

The weather was fantastic, the couple were wonderful and by the end of the day, I was made to feel more like a guest, than someone who was employed to do a job by both Kelly and Oliver’s families.

On Saturday, 5 May 2007, I met up with Kelly and Oliver at The Thistle Hotel, in Little Wymondley to have a chat about their upcoming wedding on 9 June and to have a look around the hotel and grounds.

I had my camera’s with me and decided to do an unplanned pre-wedding shoot.

Good thing, I think, as Oliver doesn’t really like being in front of the camera, so what better way for him to get used to having the camera in his face all day.
