Welcome to my new project/discipline, to post a Photo A Day.

Project – because it is something new for me to take on.

Discipline – because I have found that in the quiet months in the wedding photography business and especially winter, I tend not to pick up the camera and feel (because of the long dark, dull winter) totally de-motivated.

So now, motivate myself, I am disciplining myself to carry my camera virtually everywhere I go and photograph something interesting, arty, set up or just to remind myself of the day.

If I am unable to take a photo everyday, for whatever reason, then I will post an image from my library that will remind of something I saw or did that day.

ABOUT ME:

I am a wedding photographer and my photography site is www.george park.co.uk

I was born in South Africa. My father came from Aberdeen in Scotland and so, due to him being Scottish, he ensured that we had our British Passports.

My arrival in the UK in August 1999 was an adventure for me, as I had never been here before. I had a return ticket, but said to all my friends I left behind that I would know within 2 weeks whether I would stay or return to South Africa.

Well, it took only one week and I knew I would not return.

Took me a while to accumulate enough money to replace all my camera equipment that had been stolen in one of 9 burglaries in 5 years. Once I had purchased the equipment I felt was of good enough quality, I started my wedding photographer business.
